SPA 002: Your True Potential and the #1 Habit of Successful Athletes

Aristotle famously said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a HABIT.”

If you are listening to this show, chances are you are already an athlete, someone who works out regularly, keeping a schedule and really enjoying yourself in the process. But that’s not enough, you have been looking  for ways to better yourself because there are athletes or even your current teammates who can perform something that you want to master but aren’t capable of or you THINK you aren’t capable of mastering it at least for now. So how is it that they can pull it off while you can’t? Instead of shrugging it off as a genetic inborn talent, you are out to figure this out for yourself and that’s where it starts!

In this episode you will discover:

  • how to be a natural at a skill in your sport
  • the one and only habit you need towards mastery
  • the shocking amount of time people need to learn a new habit
  • when’s the time your willpower is the highest
  • what top athletes think about first thing when they wake up in the morning
  • tricks to get you to start and maintain this powerful habit

In summary:

Develop the habits as what successful athletes do to bring yourself from point A to point B as soon as you can, whether you like it or not. As humans we tend to take the path of least resistance, and if it doesn’t bring us to where we want to go, why do we still stay on that path? If a path takes us to where we want to go, we should do anything it takes to set us on the bandwagon and ride on that path. That’s what true champions do.
