“You have to train your mind like you train your body.” – Bruce Jenner
Famous NBA starts like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant have been coached by Tim Grover and George Mumford. Johnny Wilkinson was coached by Dave Alred and the Seattle Seahawks are trained by Michael Gervais.
That said, it doesn’t mean because they are world class athletes, that’s why they are able to engage mental trainers.
The point here is that, even world class athletes are not born with a mind of steel. They need to work with people to become who they want to be. Same for you, you don’t have to be in the NBA to have a coach, you don’t have to be in the Olympics to be mentally strong.
You don’t wait to be like Michael Jordan to throw free throws like him. Work on it. Work on all aspects of your body and life, then you will arrive at what you are most capable of.
I never had a mental coach all my life until the year 2010 when my canoe polo team got to know Chris Lee and Antony Lou of SportPsychConsulting.com.
They helped me pave a healthier perspective on sports performance and educated us with tried and tested proven skills required in times of stress and pressure.
I truly appreciate their kind help and teachings. They joined the team at the right time and they were there to answer the questions we could only leave a question mark to if they weren’t there.
Listen to discover what a mental coach can do for you.
