Hi, I’m Marilyn Wo and this is StarPlayer Academy episode 117.
I remember John Bingham once said, “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.”
I know your aim is to finish, to finish strong, to win and to be the top in your field. But ultimately, goals are there for you to pave your way for you to walk the right path in the right direction.
The true meaning is not the goal you set out to reach.
The true meaning is your never ending fight of your own fear that will constantly inspire you and others around you.
Maybe the only way for you to improve is to fail now, maybe the only way for you to do greater things is to slow down today to reach further tomorrow.
I’m not asking you to quit, I’m asking you to always search for the starting point to reach for something higher so that you can be better than before.
So it doesn’t mean winning today will make you better than before.
Did you compete with worthy opponents?
Are you in a situation that did not challenge you away from your comfort zone?
Was it harder than what you think?
If your answer to these three questions is an outright no, you’ve not learned anything new. It’s was merely a practice.
If your answer is a yes to all three questions, and you finished last of the lot, you’ve gained ten times more than if it was an easy feat for you to finish strong.
Fight your fear and find the courage to start at a level higher than your current standard.
